The priest signed his letter as the "head of the Missionary Department of the Mukachevo Orthodox Eparchy in Uzhgorod" and attested the message with the three seals of Ruthenian organizations, according to the correspondent of the magazine "Religion in Ukraine".

The cleric outlined recent statement of Anna Herman on "Channel 5" that "there are no cases of political persecution in Ukraine". According to him, the criminal case № 499 against him for the crime under Art. 110 of the Criminal Code - "Deliberate actions taken to change the territorial frontiers of Ukraine in violation of the order established by the Constitution of Ukraine ..."  (c.) is  a prime example of such a prosecution. In fact, the prejudicial inquiry and court proceedings have not found sufficient evidence to prosecute him, and thus this case is a blatant example of political campaign, ordered by the authorities of Ukraine to discredit the "obstinate cleric".

Open since September 2009, the case № 499 was sent to Transcarpathian appellate court, which "still hesitates to reach a verdict, because my actions do not constitute an offense," assures Fr. Dymitry Sydor. The priest of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church urges Anna Herman to assist the court "in the adoption of fair verdict in my case, which is being delayed for three years and keeps me, a missionary, under house arrest for the fourth year."
